The Worldwide Palliative Care Alliance advocates for a world with universal access to hospice and palliative care.
Unfortunately, many of the barriers to hospice and palliative care are due to a lack of understanding and an absence of policies by key decision makers at the global, national and local level.
We seek to influence key international and national organisations to increase knowledge, change policies and improve service delivery.
In addition, we provide resources, training and facilitate opportunities to build the advocacy capacity of our members. These opportunities include the organisation of the annual World Hospice and Palliative Care Day which takes place every year in October.
The advocacy group is chaired by Sharon Baxter from the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association.
