MD in Palliative Medicine has started in India for the first time in the current academic year (2012-2013) after the Board of Governance of Medical Council of India granted permission to TATA Memorial Centre, Mumbai to begin the course in April 2012.
The MCI approval is for two seats. The two candidates who qualified in the Common Entrance Test have joined for the MD programme of three years duration in June 2012. This is a major accomplishment for palliative care education in India
