News from the Access to Opioid Medication in Europe project
The consortium of the Access to Opioid Medication in Europe (ATOME) project is made up of 10 partners from academic institutions and public health organisations working to help European governments identify and remove barriers that prevent people from accessing medicines that could improve end of life care, alleviate debilitating pain and treat heroin dependence.
Two workshops on improving access to controlled medicines were held in Bucharest, Romania in September and November 2011 attended by delegates from the participating countries. A report on the quick scan of legislations in the ATOME target countries is available to download from the ATOME website.
