Membership

Our members are national and regional hospice and palliative care organisations and affiliate organisations supporting hospice and palliative care from around the world.

The strength and success of the Worldwide Palliative Care Alliance is dependent on the participation and involvement of our members around the world.

What are the benefits to your organisation becoming a member of the WPCA?

  • Benefit from the collective strength of membership

  • Participate in building an international voice for hospice and palliative care that can advocate for the needs of our patients and providers with international organizations

  • Power to nominate to the working groups

  • Access the resources of the WPCA to support the national development of hospice and palliative care

  • Network with hospice and palliative care leaders throughout the world

  • Develop skills in national development including leadership, education and training, fundraising, advocacy, communication, organisational development, and quality and standards

  • Share expertise and learning with other national hospice and palliative care associations

 

Who can become a member of the WPCA?


There are the following nine categories of associate membership of the Worldwide Palliative Care Alliance.

1. National association

  •  national organisation whose members are organisations providing hospice and palliative care.

2. National professional association

  • National bodies or associations of professionals involved in hospice andpalliative care. 


3. Regional hospice and palliative care organisation

  • Regional organisations including African Palliative Care Association; Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network; Latin American Palliative Care Association; European Association of Palliative Care and International Children’s Palliative Care Network.

4. State level associations 

  • An organisation or association concerned with hospice or palliative care provision in one or more states within a country.

     

5. Academic institutions 

  • An academic body or institution concerned with education and/or research into hospice and palliative care.

     

6. Other national or international organisations

  • An organisation or association which represents or is concerned with hospice and palliative care in more than one country.
     

7. Government bodies

  • Any official governmental body interested in supporting hospice and palliative care development within their country.

     

8. Friend

  • Local hospice or palliative care service or related individuals. 

9. Foundations

  • Funders of hospice and palliative care.

What is the cost of membership?

Membership of the Worldwide Palliative Care Alliance is free.
